Getting Started

1. Set Up Permissions

LeaveBy needs the following permissions to work properly:

Permission	Why It's Needed
Location	Calculate travel times from your current location
Background Location	Alert you even when the app is closed
Notifications	Send departure alerts

2. Create Your First Alarm

Tap + on the Home screen
Enter your arrival time (when you need to be there)
Search for your destination
Choose your transport mode (driving, transit, walking, biking)
Optionally set a prep time for getting ready
Tap Save

3. Enable the Alarm

Toggle the alarm ON. LeaveBy will calculate traffic and notify you when it's time to leave.

Troubleshooting

⚠️ Alarms Not Triggering?

Check permissions - Ensure Location and Notifications are enabled
Check battery settings - Disable battery optimization for LeaveBy
Check alarm is ON - Toggle should be enabled (colored)

Location Not Updating

Go to Settings → LeaveBy → Location
Select Always (not "While Using")
Enable Precise Location

Traffic Data Not Showing

Traffic data requires an internet connection
Traffic is only shown for Driving mode
Some routes may not have traffic data available

Notifications Not Appearing

Check notification permissions in device settings
Check LeaveBy is not in Do Not Disturb exclusion list
Ensure alarms are enabled

Sign In Options

Email/Password - Create an account with your email
Google - Sign in with your Google account
Facebook - Sign in with your Facebook account

How does LeaveBy calculate departure time?

LeaveBy uses Google Maps to get real-time traffic data and calculates the optimal departure time based on current conditions, your destination, transport mode, and prep time.

Does LeaveBy work without internet?

Basic alarms work offline, but traffic-aware departure times require an internet connection.

How much data does LeaveBy use?

LeaveBy uses minimal data - typically less than 5MB per month for normal usage.

Is my location data shared?

No. Your location is only used to calculate travel times and is not sold or shared with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.
